Isla Bike - Beinn 20 Large - For Sale

If you're looking at post you're probably aware that this is best bike on the market for your six to seven year old.

We bought this in November 2009 when Fred was 5 and 8 months and it fitted him perfectly from the off.

There's the inevitable chips in the paint but in general it looks very good and works faultlessly.

It comes with a pair of knobbly tyres, essential for cross riding, and I'll also throw in a pair of slicks, essential for the summer, and three spare tubes.

These things go for over £200 on EBay but I'm after £180.

We'll be taking the bike to the cyclocross event on Saturday. I guess Mark has first dibs as his post hit first. Perhaps Charlie could ride his first cross race on it? Could meet up on Sunday evening if you can't make it to the event.

hi rich, thank you once again for the bike loan on saturday, charlie really enjoyed his first foray into the world of bike racing and so did i!
i have been thinking about the bike and to be honest we are going to look at getting something slightly bigger (perhaps the 24" wheeled version) as he is already quite big on the beinn 20 and i can't see his rate of growth getting any slower.
i do feel slightly embarrassed though as the bike was absolutely spotless and now you have to clean it again so please accept my apologies for this.
Frenchie - buy it, it's a brilliant bike, i just wish charlie wasn't quite so enormous!

p.s. Rich, did you look at any other bikes before getting fred's current bike? i have a friend who can get bike stuff cheap, except islabikes!

@ Mark - I'm glad Charlie enjoyed it. And don't worry about the cleaning: the mud on the bike is nothing compared with the state it was in after Thornbridge a couple of weeks ago.

I thought that might be your conclusion after I saw how much you raised the seatpost for Charlie. Not to worry.

I've not looked at alternatives because Isla seemed to be the standard on the cross scene. I have seen small Ridleys that I would be interested in if Fred takes to it. The test for him will be the 2014/15 season when he graduates to the under 12s - it's quite a step up. Any help on cheap bike bits would be good though.

@ Frenchie - The bike's still up for sale. Are you still interested?
