Not a popular time but the only chance I'm going to get to ride is Sun afternoon. Flexible but guess it'll be a couple of hours at about 17mph average.

There is the catch in the above though, the club is being replaced by the bunch.cc; if we can all meet & ride without being a club member, what utility is the club?
No, I'm not so sure my fine French friend.
Firstly I'll ride with anybody. Also look how long it took me to join! People will see us out and about, have a look at the site (which he was impressed by), hopefully pick up a positive vibe and come out for a spin, quite rightly they can dip their toe, see if they like it and join up from there.
Ply them with beer at the next social and then apply huge amounts of peer pressure. If we can get the Spring Classics on in the pub again that would also be a good time to recruit.
As the least committed BCC member I can't comment, I think I eventually joined as I wanted to go on the velodrome trip.
Herve, I personally agree with Julian and the club thrives on people coming along and riding with the diversity of members.
Obviously plying them with beer is the deal clincher to joining. :-)
As you have said you have raised this point with the exec and if we can leave it till the exec meeting to discuss that would be good.
Had a nice little spin round the good old East Leake loop, there's not a lot of variety in routes when you've only got two hours.
Joined by a pleasant chap called James who has been lurking on the site for a while and is hopefully a potential member.
Strava let me down on max speed again but otherwise was fairly accurate.
